For you Toad-heads out there. This dude is recreating Walt Disney World's Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in 3-D animation at Virtual-Toad.com. For those not in the know, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was closed down in 1998 and replaced with a vastly inferior Winnie The Pooh ride. I mean, it's cute and all, but I miss the subversity of Mr. Toad. In Winnie the Pooh, the ride ends with a storybook happy ending in the Hundred Acer Wood. In Mr. Toad, riders get hit by a train and go to hell. Awesome. Mr. Toad may be RIP, but hopefully will be resurrected in the future through the wonders of 3-D animation. Let's hear it for technology and people who have way too much time on their hands.

So the funniest think happened at work yesterday and none of you are going to get it!! But im going to tell anyways. So I've been developing an XSL page to transform data gathered in Documentum into a form on a website. However one of the elements of the XML was named "A" for answer to a question. When calling upon this element in my XSL however it was discovered that the Documentum code transforms all instances of A to HTML A tags!!! hahahaha dont laugh too hard...

Awhile ago, I posted a totally unhelpful CDNOW.com customer review for a Tom Waits album. The jist of the review was about how this dude managed to break his CD and set it on fire. The guy was a moron. Well, here's another customer review about how his CD broke, but this one is a nice creative writing composition. The review is for Neutral Milk Hotel's album In An Aeroplane Over The Sea. I give both album and Ray's review an A. Notice how many people awarded his creativity by saying his review was helpful. That's quite a lot for a CDNow customer review.

The Chief's Sports Report

After rocking former #1 Wake Forest, and rolling over Arkansas, Illinois is the #1 team in the nation in college basketball!!! This is only the third time in the school's history that they are ranked #1, but in each of the other instances, Illinois went to the Final Four that season. Will this time be the same? Only time will tell, but I sure believe in these guys.

In other news, Bears CB Charles Tillman made a new purchase. He now owns Vikings WR Randy Moss. After last year's takeaway interception to win the game, and this year's forced fumble on Moss, Tillman has the upperhand in their relationship. The little tiff they had during yesterday's game just shows how frustrated Moss really is w/ Tillman.

And how about OT Colombo...he seems to block a field goal attempt every time he's in there!

Oh how the mighty have fallen. #3 Illinois destroyed #1 Wake Forest 91-73 tonight. The entire stadium was orange as nearly all of the 16,500 fans were sporting orange as part of "Paint the Hall Orange" night at Assembly Hall to go along w/ the Illini's all orange uniforms. Even coach Bruce Weber was sporting a bright orange sport coat for the occassion.

This dude posts overheard conversations, observations of people, and humorous/memorable/ bizarre/creepy (but all true) anecdotes of his daily commute on the el trains and busses. I'm sure we all have our own stories. One time I got on the Sheridan 151 bus and not one, not two, but THREE schitzo types were talking and rocking to themselves; I thought - dude - what bus did I just get on? These guys should sit next to each other. Have a schitzo sewing-circle conversation for once. That would rule. This other time I was riding the Clark bus, and when we passed Wrigley Field, this schitzo dude points out the window and shouts "WHAT'S THE SCORE? WHAT'S THE SCORE? WHAT'S THE SCORE?... over and over". (The Cubs weren't even playing that night) Anyway, after reading the entries at www.ctatattler.com, I'm never ever going to sit in the "hobo corner" (the semi-private 2 seat area next to the conductor's box - yeah, you know what I'm talking about) on the el trains. People do, ahem, interesting things in there.

Brad, I agree with TheChief - Pabst Blue Ribbon as "Beer of the Week" for multiple weeks is just too much. Granted, it is my favorite white-trash beer, but drink it up and move on, man. That'll teach ya for buying too much PBR. I hope you've learned a valuable lesson.

The Bears have now won 2 straight games! En route to their 28-21 victory over the Giants, the Bears had 7 sacks. Just more proof that being Kurt Warner is overrated.

In a battle between the best, the Steelers shutdown T.O., Donovan, and the Eagles. Needless to say, Donovan was not happy.

Meanwhile, the Bengals won 26-3 over the Cowboys, despite their uniforms.

And finally, I must add that the Illini have finally won a Big Ten football game. Their 26-22 victory over Indiana marks the Illini's first Big Ten victory in two seasons. They now have 2 weeks to prepare for Northwestern. Could it be 2 in a row?
